What causes lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin?

The primary cause of visible aging is collagen loss. During your younger years, your face is softened by a thick layer of collagen. As the years pass, you lose much of that tissue, and your facial skin begins to sag and pool into wrinkles, lines, and folds.
At the same time, years of sun exposure begin to catch up with you. You might develop dark spots or notice your skin has taken on a rough, uneven texture.

What is facial rejuvenation?

Facial rejuvenation is a process that uses laser technology to address multiple skin concerns. At Donna Bella Laser MedSpa, your provider uses fractional laser technology to perform facial rejuvenation. This approach breaks the laser beam into smaller fragments that only target certain areas of your skin.
The laser creates microscopic damage to certain cells but leaves adjacent cells untouched. This scattered pattern speeds healing and avoids significant downtime. A numbing cream lessens sensations during your session, and there is no need for advance preparation or lengthy recovery time.
Your body responds to laser therapy by creating new collagen cells. Those new cells are densely packed and act to smooth and tighten your skin. Treatments also improve hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and uneven texture or tone.

What other facial rejuvenation treatments are available?

You have options when it comes to facial rejuvenation. There are pros and cons with each approach, but Dr. Hwang-Ki and her team guide you toward the options best-suited for you.
Intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments use brief, but powerful, pulses of light at multiple wavelengths to activate collagen production and address unusual pigmentation.
Fractional CO2 & OxyGeneoFractional C02 laser skin resurfacing reduces age spots such as fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, uneven coloration, skin laxity, and textural irregularities. This laser helps increase collagen production that results in skin tightening.

3 in 1 OxyGeneo super facial exfoliates the skin to remove dead cells and softens the appearances of fine lines, wrinkles, minimizes pores, and hydrates the skin. OxyGeneo provides anti-aging results and improves skin cell production for a youthful glow.

Is facial rejuvenation painful?

There is no significant pain associated with any of the facial rejuvenation treatments available at Donna Bella Laser MedSpa. Dr. Hwang-Ki evaluates your skin and determines which treatment options can bring you closer to your aesthetic goals.
For some treatments, the providers apply a special numbing cream to reduce sensations in the treated area. Other treatments can be performed with no topical anesthetic. If you have especially sensitive skin, be sure to advise the staff prior to your appointment.
In the days following your sessions, your skin may feel a bit raw and tender, similar to a sunburn. This doesn’t last long, and you’ll be able to apply makeup as soon as the following day. Wearing sunscreen is critical after facial rejuvenation treatments.

Wrinkles, age spots, and sagging skin have a tendency to creep up on us. Gravity and environmental factors pull the skin and muscles
downwards and our metabolism does not produce as much collagen and elastin as before.

Fortunately there are many, non-invasive solutions (radio-frequency energy, intense pulsed light, oxygen facials) that quickly, effectively and painlessly aid in rejuvenating the skin, and in some instances regenerate the production of collagen to restore
elasticity and plumpness to your skin. Results are visible from the first treatment, and by undergoing a series of treatments, your skin will look and feel tighter and smoother.

What is Fractional Co2 Laser Resurfacing?

Providing treatments specific to anti-aging, Donna Bella Laser MedSpa effectively treat:

Dynamic Wrinkles
These are expression lines that may appear as folds when the skin is not moving, and deepen with facial movements or expressions.

Static Wrinkles
These wrinkles are visible at all times and do not change in appearance with facial movements.

Scars
As the result of acne or injury to the skin, scars may be rolling (a wavy appearance to the skin), pitted, discolored, or have raised borders.

Pigmentation
Freckles, sun spots, melasma, or other darkened patches of skin result mainly from sun exposure.

Vascular Conditions
Blood vessels visible on the surface of the skin, vascular lesions that appear as tiny blood filled blisters or even a constant flush of facial redness.

Loss of Skin Tone
Weakening of the supportive skin structures (collagen and elastin fibers) that result in a loss of skin firmness.
